So many times I have sat here and looked at this laptop screen to see finger prints, smudges, and random debris from who knows what. Each time I shut down my computer after a couple weeks I start to wonder how did I get this screen so dirty! Eventually it starts to bug me and I need to clean it before I strain my eyes to see through the dirty surface to what lies beneath on that black screen. There are may ways to clean an LCD screen, either you can spend money on a special cleaner you can get at almost any computer or technology store, or you can go a little more natural and use rubbing alcohol or even some distilled alcohol like Vodka.
What Not to Use
Each way of cleaning the screen is fairly easy, the LCD screens are fairly sensitive and you DO NOT want to clean it with your normal household Windex, I tried and boy that didn’t work well, bad idea! But one day I searched the internet for a solution to the problem, and I was able to find a few different ways to clean the screen easily.
Buy a Specially-Made Cleaning Solution
Now the first method is simply a cleaner you buy made for LCD screens, you do not really want to put anything directly onto the screen and also make sure to leave the screen off overnight before you clean it to make sure it is cooled down before cleaning. Make sure you get a soft cloth as well I simply use a clean wash cloth, 100 percent cotton usually works about best. First you’ll want to dust the screen and then what you do is take the cleaner and spray it onto the wash cloth and then when you go to clean the screen small circles are best to clean away the smudges and prints, it will air dry and if you need to a light dusting afterward to keep it spot free.
Rubbing Alcohol
Another method is to clean your LCD screen with rubbing alcohol, the same cleaning method applies as the first method. Put the alcohol onto the wash cloth and small circles to clean the screen to a nice shine.
The Vodka Cleaning Method
And finally my personal favorite is Vodka, straight vodka will do best, no flavored kinds. Again, same as method one put it onto the wash cloth and small circles to clean, after you finish you will see everything in a whole new light!
